Kim (Robey) Huggett

Kim (Robey) Huggett graduated from River Falls High School in 1979. Kim also attended UWRF from 1980-1984 and 1985-86 part-time.

Kim was a three sport athlete at River Falls High School. She competed in Volleyball, Basketball and Track. Kim lettered in Volleyball 77, 78, 79 and the Volleyball team was Regional Champions in 1978.  She lettered in basketball in 78 and 79. Kim received Honorable Mention as a Jr. and All Conference as a Sr. Kim also lettered in Tack 76, 77, 78, 79. While in Track Kim ran the 100m, 200m, relays and long jumped. Kim held the L Jump record at 16 feet 9 1/2 inches. Kim was Conference Champion in Long Jump in 79 and went to sectionals all four years. Kim was named WEVR Outstanding Female Senior athlete.

While attending UWRF from 1980- 1984 Kim was a two sport athlete. She was on the Volleyball team and Track team for four years. In 1980 & 81 in Volleyball Kim was named most improved player and in 1983 was voted most dedicated. While on the Track team Kim competed in Long Jump, 100m, relays and Triple Jump her Senior year; this was the first year for women to compete in that event at the college level.   In 1982 Kim was Indoor Conference Champion in Long Jump and 2nd at Outdoor Conference.  In 1984 she was 2nd Outdoor and in Triple Jump she was 6th Indoor and Outdoor Conference Champion.  She also set the UWRF Triple Jump record in 1984 with a distance of 36’ 8 ¼”.  Kim held the Long Jump record at UWRF for 19 years and the Triple jump record for 13 years.  Kim also went to Nationals all 4 years in Long Jump, in the 100m her freshman year and in Triple Jump her senior year.  Kim was an All American in Long Jump in senior year, placing 4th.  She also placed 7th in the Triple Jump, one place from being an All American.

Kim is employed at Ellsworth High School; she has been there since 1993, working as an aide with Special Education students.  Kim has also been coaching at Ellsworth for many years.  She started coaching Middle School volleyball then went to high school from 2000 – 2010.  Kim has been Assistant Track Coach at Ellsworth for 24 years.  She is the jumping coach: long jump, triple jump and high jump.  She has had much success, having many jumpers qualify for the State Track meet.  She has had one State champion and many in the top 6 place winners.  Kim is still coaching track at Ellsworth.   Kim would like to thank Mr. Kirby Symes for his continued persistence for her to coach in Ellsworth.  He never game up on me, so she has had the opportunity to work with many great people and athletes.

Kim married Phil Huggett, her high school sweetheart.  They have been married 30 years and have four wonderful children: Sarah, Lindsey, Luke and Samantha.  They also have three wonderful grandchildren.  Kim and Phil live in El Paso, WI, where they own their own business, The El Paso Bar and Grill, since 1996.  Their children have all worked there with their parents to make it a successful business.
